Class 8 - Miss Matthews

Class 8

Welcome to Class 8’s page. We are delighted that you have checked in on our page. Please check back for regular updates, shared work and other important information.

Class  will need to remember their PE kit on a Monday.

Children should aim to read for 15 minutes per night and will be awarded 1 dojo per time that they have read 3 times a week.

Your child will be bringing home their reading ‘pack’ every day and this then needs to be brought back into school every morning. The pack will contain your child’s reading diary and guided reading book, along with a colour banded book that matches their reading level. The children are encouraged to change these books regularly in school. Their reading band colour will be on the bag so they know which basket they need to choose from. They may also have a library book in their pack and a book they are reading from home.

The school library is also open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday after school, where they can choose a book to be issued to them.

Homework will be handed out every Wednesday and returned every Wednesday.

Children will have spelling homework one week and Maths homework the following week. If your child is struggling with their homework please have them bring it in before it is due so they can receive help.

Water Bottle and Coat

Please make sure your child brings a reusable water bottle to school each day.

As the cold weather approaches, please also remember to send your child into school with a warm coat.
